About

My
Story
Dumelang, Welcome. My name is Elizabeth Tekanyo. I am a medical anthropologist, sexologist and public health researcher. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California, I have lived, studied and worked across Botswana, Germany, Costa Rica, Colorado and Western Australia. My research interests span across various geographies, cultures and experiences, intersecting with gender, sexual and reproductive health and rights, family planning, gender-based violence prevention and response, human rights and innovation. I recognise my positionality as a researcher with an aim to engage with and be driven by community action and codesign. I stand as an ally, antiracist, feminist and support the decolonisation of development research.
